The Liberty Swing at Orem’s All-Together Playground

250 E 100 N in Orem, Utah

The Liberty Swing is a revolutionary concept in playground swing equipment that accommodates people with mobility difficulties or who use a wheelchair. It enables children and adults in wheelchairs to enjoy the fun and recreation of swinging. It has a number of special features that make it both safe and simple to use including an access ramp, a wheel locking mechanism, a pop-up seat for people with mobility impairments, and a safety harness.

The swing requires a key to be unlocked and fully operational. One key per family will be provided free of charge. To acquire a key, simply watch the safety video to learn how to safely access and operate the swing (see Step 1 below), read the Access and Liability Waiver Agreement (Step 2), and then fill out and submit the online form (Step 3).

After submitting the form, a link to the Liberty Swing Key Authorization Form, which includes an Access and Liability Waiver Agreement will be emailed to you. Open the link then print, read, and sign the agreement. Take it and a valid form of identification to Bilco Safe & Lock Inc. at 950 S. State Street in Orem during regular business hours. The city will pay them to provide one key per family free of charge.

A key can also be borrowed from the front desk of the City’s library two blocks west of the playground (50 East 100 North) during regular operating hours. Just leave a legal form of identification as collateral. No residency required.

In addition to the short video, instructions on how to use the Liberty Swing are located on a sign posted at the site of the swing.

Additional questions about accessing the Liberty Swing can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 801-229-7500.
